IDEA Science Fair 2026 — STEM Project Competition, organised by Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), bringing together young innovators to showcase sustainable STEM solutions for the future.
Theme: Sustainovation for a Greener Nation
Venue: Dewan Utama, USM Engineering Campus, Nibong Tebal
Date: Saturday, 11 April 2026
Time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
The competition is open to three categories:
• Category A: Secondary School (Form 1–5)
• Category B: Form 6 Students
• Category C: Tertiary (University)
Competition Structure
Phase 1 – Abstract Submission
– Deadline: 20 February 2026
– 200–300 words (English or Malay), including problem, methodology, expected outcomes and sustainability impact
– Shortlisted teams will proceed to Phase 2
Phase 2 – Final Competition (11 April 2026)
– In-person presentation at USM
– Working prototype/model + project poster required
– 12-minute judging session
– Participation fee: RM50 (non-refundable) + RM10 refundable deposit
All finalists will receive Certificates of Participation (PAJSK & MYCSDS are given)
Important Communication Notes:
• Phase 1 updates will be announced via the official Instagram page.
• Phase 2 shortlisted teams will be notified via official email and invited to a private Telegram group for final-stage communication.
