International Letter-Writing Competition

Pos Malaysia invites all Malaysian students aged 9–15 years to take part in the 55th UPU International Letter-Writing Competition 2026 and share how a simple letter can bring people closer in this digital age. Write a letter to a friend about “Why Human Connection Matters in a digital world”.

Win cash prizes up to RM1,000 and proudly represent Malaysia!

The competition is open to students in Malaysia who are Malaysian citizens aged between 9
and 15 years as of 5 May 2026.

2. Entries must be submitted in English, not exceeding 800 words, in the form of a
   handwritten letter, and may include accompanying illustrations.
3. Compositions must contain the elements of a letter (heading, greeting, body, complimentary
   close, and signature line).
4. Entries will be judged based on the following criteria:

• Structure as a letter
• Adherence to the theme
• Creativity; and
• Use of language

INDIVIDUAL CATEGORY

• Primary school category (9-12 years old)
  o Top 3 winners: RM200 each, e-certificate & Pos Malaysia merchandise
• Secondary school category (13-15 years old)
  o Top 3 winners: RM200 each, e-certificate & Pos Malaysia merchandise
• Grand Prize winner: RM800 & e-certificate [selected from the overall Top Winners]
