Do you fashion yourself a budding writer? Here’s your chance to enter the #NSTWRITE4SEAA essay contest

and stand a chance to win cash prizes.

  1. This β€œNST #WRITE4SEA” Contest is organised by the New Straits Times.
  2. The Contest is subject to the terms & conditions stated herein and the Organiser reserves the right to vary, add, modify and or alter these terms & conditions as and when it deems fit.
  3. By participating in the Contest, the participant declares that he/she has read and understood the terms & conditions herein and agrees to be bound by them.

  1. The contest is open to:
    1. Malaysian students between the age of 10 and 18 years old with a valid (blue) identity card.
    2. All types of schools with Malaysian syllabus.
  2. The Contest is not open to employees of the Organiser (Media Prima Berhad, New Straits Times Press and New Straits Times) and their immediate family members.

C. Contest Mechanics – How To Participate

  • Participants are required to write an essay with the following topic:
    1. Category A (10 – 13 years old)(The essay should be anything between 500 and 750 words)Topic : What does the preservation of the environment mean to me?
    2. Category B (14 – 18 years old)(The essay should be anything between 850 and 1,000 words)Topic : What do you think of the current efforts to preserve the environment? As a young leader, what would you change?

Closing date for submission of Entries is extended to 7 November 2021, 6.00pm.
